VectorCraft: ArtCraft’s open-source vector illustration app
VectorCraft is the vector illustration app in the ArtCraft family — the one positioned against Adobe Illustrator. The official site lists it as “In development”.

- Native JSON documents; SVG and PDF import/export; PNG, JPEG and WebP output. The official page does not mention .ai or EPS support.

Two different things are called “VectorCraft”
If you searched for VectorCraft you may be looking for one of two unrelated things:
- VectorCraft by ArtCraft — the open-source desktop illustration app covered on this page.
- thevectorcraft.com — a separate online tool for converting raster images (PNG/JPG) to vectors. It is not part of the ArtCraft project.
ArtCraft’s VectorCraft does include its own image tracing feature with 12 presets, so it can also turn bitmaps into paths.

Is VectorCraft free?
Yes. The official page describes the current release as free and open source.
Can VectorCraft open Adobe Illustrator (.ai) files?
The official page lists SVG and PDF import/export and a native JSON format. It does not mention .ai or EPS, so treat native Illustrator support as unconfirmed.
Is VectorCraft ready for production work?
Not yet. The official site labels it “In development”, and the developer has said the apps are not close to ready.
Is thevectorcraft.com the official site?
No. The ArtCraft app lives at getartcraft.com/apps/vectorcraft and github.com/storytold/vectorcraft. thevectorcraft.com is a different, unrelated online vectorizer.
